Maggie Mayhan grew up in the Show-Me State's capital city. She holds bachelor of arts and master's degrees in English from Truman State University in Kirksville. She first joined SHSMO in October 2010 to work with the Missouri Digital Newspaper Project before joining the education department in 2012, coordinating National History Day in Missouri and serving as co-chair for SHSMO’s programs and events. In 2019, she became the Assistant Director for Community Engagement where she directed public programming initiatives, oversaw SHSMO's virtual program series, and launched the Center for Missouri Studies' event rental program. Mayhan now serves as the assistant director in charge of the newly formed Advancement and Engagement department.
