Request with Exact Citation

Notice

In response to the declaration of emergency made by the Governor of the State of Missouri and the President of the United States, and to aid in the efforts to help slow the spread of COVID-19, the State Historical Society will temporarily close all its Research Centers.

The Center for Missouri Studies in Columbia and Research Centers in Cape Girardeau, Kansas City, Rolla, Saint Louis, and Springfield are closed from March 17 through April 24. Due to the fluid nature of this emergency, the closure may extend beyond April 24. For updates, please monitor the announcements this website.

During this time, if you have a question or a research request, please submit those using the online Research Request form. Telephones in the Research Centers will not be answered during the closure. Please be prepared that it may take significantly longer to receive a response to your inquiry.

To request articles from the Society's Index to Selected Missouri Newspapers, 1819-1886, copy and paste the citation information into the Research Request form. Please limit your request to ten citations.

Fee for articles from the Index to Selected Missouri Newspapers

  • $4 for each exact citation newspaper request
No more than 10 citations at a time

Some Missouri newspapers are available online, free of charge. Available newspapers may be accessed through the Missouri Digital Newspaper Project.
