Due to the July-through-June fiscal year, the completed IRS Form 990 is not available until the tax year following the close of the fiscal year on June 30. Fiscal year 2021, for example, runs from July 1, 2020, until June 30, 2021, and IRS disclosures will then be filed the following tax year, in 2022.
Audited Financial Statements
Audited financial statements are published as soon as they are finalized. Typically, this occurs in the first quarter of the calendar year following the fiscal year close.
The SHSMO Annual Report is released each year at the Society's Annual Meeting, held in October. It is published online shortly thereafter and covers the preceding fiscal year.
The State Historical Society of Missouri is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Gifts and portions of membership dues may be tax deductible.
