Diane McKinney
Diane McKinney joined the staff of the State Historical Society in January 2022 after 22 years as a paper conservator for the Local Records Program at the Missouri State Archives in Jefferson City. She accessed, documented and treated many historical documents and maps while also preserving books and photographs for the State of Missouri. Diane received her Bachelor of Science degree with majors in art and business administration from Lincoln University. Before her work at the State Archives, Diane spent an additional 16 years at an art gallery in Jefferson City helping clients choose the best framing and materials to display and preserve their historical collections. For at least four generations, both sides of Diane’s family have lived in central Missouri, which has been a good location for checking off her bucket list of visiting every working drive-in movie theater in Missouri. And, when she’s not at the movies, another goal is to explore her list of top 15 caves in the Show Me State.
