SHSMO to Partner on Film Series

The State Historical Society of Missouri is among four community partners in mid Missouri selected for Show Me Series, a community film series sponsored by Ragtag film Society at Ragtag Cinema in Columbia. Each screening is followed by a community conversation and is free to the public. SHSMO will kick off the series September 25 – stay tuned to hear which film is chosen and co-curated between SHSMO and our friends at Ragtag Cinema. The other partners selected by Ragtag Cinema in this series is Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture, Race Matters, Friends, and Truman School of Government & Public Affairs.

Now in its fifth year, the upcoming Show Me Series will explore the role of agriculture and land stewardship, how race structures society and institutions, the value of history and archives, and how governance and public policy shape our daily lives.

“We are thrilled to work with another cohort of community partners, and we are excited to see what these partners bring to our art house,” said Ouma Amadou, cinema programmer and community partnerships coordinator. “The Show Me Series remains an important feature of the Columbia community because of its commitment to bridging the gap between art and social issues through innovative and collaborative programming.”

Film details will be on the SHSMO events page of this website and at ragtagcinema.org
