The State Historical Society of Missouri has been recognized with a 2024 American Architecture Award in the Institution category, according to an announcement released by AMA this month. MultiStudio (formerly Gould Evans) designed and built the Center for Missouri, headquarters of SHSMO. Last spring, the architectural firm submitted our building design to the annual award program organized by The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. The awards celebrate significant new buildings and planning projects designed and/or built in the U.S. and abroad by American designers.
“Designed as a hub for public discourse, the Center for Missouri Studies offers a venue to provide a new lens for scholars, students, and visitors to understand our world today," according to the AMA website.
Since it opened in 2019, the building design of the Center for Missouri Studies has been recognized with other prestigious awards, including a LEED Gold designation in Sustainable Design, Building Excellence Award Project of the Year by Association of General Contractors-Missouri, and American Institute of Architects Design Excellence Award.
