The sixty-sixth annual Missouri Conference on History, hosted and sponsored by the State Historical Society of Missouri, will be held March 13-15, 2024, at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Columbia. The conference brings together scholars, teachers, and other professional historians to share in the presentation of research, to exchange information on teaching and curriculum, to consider ways to promote the welfare of the profession and general interest in history, and to discuss other concerns common to all historians.

All presenters and participants must register for the conference. Submission of the registration form is a commitment to attend the conference, and reimbursement will not be issued for cancellations. Another member of your organization is welcome in your place if circumstances necessitate.

Keynote Luncheon

Sydney J. Norton, Independent Scholar

Sydney J. Norton is an independent scholar and the director of German Language Solutions, a company that specializes in language teaching, translation, and cultural programming. Her publications include Fighting for a Free Missouri: German Immigrants, African Americans, and the Issue of Slavery (University of Missouri Press, 2023), as well as exhibition catalogs and journal articles on contemporary German art and literature, the performing and visual arts of the Weimar Republic, and German immigrants in Missouri.
