Basic Genealogy, Part One: Getting Started

Getting started is often the most difficult part of accomplishing a task, and genealogy is no exception. In this video from SHSMO, Bill Eddleman, Associate Director of the Cape Girardeau Research Center, teaches us how to assemble what we already have—or can easily access—while giving tips on how to stay organized, interview relatives, keep focused, maintain a record of research, and determine research locations. Eddleman also discusses various groups and publications that can help along the way.
