Join us for the opening reception of the “On a Miner Note: Musical Miners and Missouri Sounds” exhibition in conjunction with the celebration of SHSMO’s 125th anniversary. The exhibit will be on display Oct. 3-26 at the Curtis Laws Wilson Library on the Missouri S&T campus in Rolla.

"On a Miner Note" explores the history of music in Rolla and Phelps County. Learn more about the Scott family and their musical influence in the region including the establishment of the Western Conservatory of Music and the founding of a community band. Other musical avenues can be explored through the exhibit including the history of KMNR and KMST radio stations at the University of Missouri – Rolla (now Missouri University of Science and Technology.)

Also on display is SHSMO's new travel exhibit “Broadcasting the Ozarks: A History of RadiOzark Enterprises.” The opening reception will feature archivist Haley Frizzle-Green’s presentation on the history of RadiOzark. Light refreshments will be served.
