Save the Stories. Join SHSMO’s Giving Campaign

This week, August 3 through August 7, SHSMO is hosting a giving campaign to help collect, preserve and share important photos and stories, so you can see more of what you love on our website.

In 2026, SHSMO commemorated the 100th anniversary of Route 66 with historical images, on-the-road interviews, and location spotlights on our social channels, sharing our Route 66 travel exhibit across the Show-Me State, and bringing in-person and online programming to you. Additionally, over 1,000 Route 66 items are now digitized and online, including the entirety of the John F. Bradbury postcard collection and highlights from the Missouri United States Highway 66 collection.

Help us bring more Missouri history topics to life by contributing to our giving campaign. Donations to the campaign will help SHSMO purchase and upgrade scanners to get more items online more quickly, expand digital storage capacity, purchase archival supplies to preserve more collections, and provide conservation for fragile items.

“We are so grateful to our members and donors,” said Kathleen Seale, Regional Director of SHSMO’s Rolla and Springfield Research Centers. “They are as much a part of these projects as we are, helping us pass down important pieces of Missouri history to future generations.”

Donate here to support future Missouri history projects, programs, and preservations.
