See More of What You Love On Our Website!
SHSMO is always working to preserve Missouri’s history. As we commemorate the 100th anniversary of Route 66, we are sharing the stories of the landmarks and people that helped launch road trip culture and cemented Missouri’s role as a crossroads of America.
We’re featuring historical images, on-the-road interviews, and location spotlights on our social channels, sharing our Route 66 traveling exhibit across the Show-Me State, and bringing in-person and online programming to you.
Additionally, over 1,000 Route 66 items are now digitized and online, including the entirety of the John F. Bradbury postcard collection and highlights from the Missouri United States Highway 66 collection.
Now, we need your help, so we can keep collecting, preserving, and sharing Missouri history with future generations.
How You Can Help
Help us share more Missouri history topics and materials by contributing to our giving campaign. With your donations, SHSMO can make more items freely available online, accessible anywhere in the world. We can:
- Purchase scanners which will help us get more items online more quickly.
- Expand our digital storage capacity: digital materials require a lot of space!
- Purchase archival supplies, including folders, boxes, and photo sleeves.
- Provide conservation for fragile, damaged, or unique items.
"Your stories, photographs, and memories are an important part of our Missouri history, and we want to pass them down to future generations by making them easily accessible online.” ~Kathleen Seale, Regional Director, Rolla and Springfield Research Centers
