The public is invited to the opening reception of selected artworks donated by Simmons Bank on display in the SHSMO Art gallery through January 11, 2025. The recent donation includes 38 works of photography, ceramics, fibers, painting, and mixed media. Brenda Landrum Bingham began this incredible art collection for the bank owned by her family and has been developed over several decades by her brother Marquis "Mark" Landrum.
The collection gifted to SHSMO includes local and regional artists. Many of the artists represented are acclaimed and collected both within their home state and abroad, and several have guided other artists through their teaching. The Simmons gift serves as an important addition to the State Historical Society of Missouri's art collection.
