COVID-19 Update

The State Historical Society of Missouri is committed to protecting the health and well-being of its members, patrons, visitors, and donors. This morning in Columbia–home to the Center for Missouri Studies–Mayor Brian Treece issued a "stay-at-home" order for the city and county. This follows similar orders in Kansas City and Saint Louis, where SHSMO also has research centers. SHSMO shares in the goal to slow the spread of COVID-19 and will keep the Center for Missouri Studies and all SHSMO research centers closed until April 24.

The staff of the State Historical Society of Missouri will continue to complete remote work to ensure that we are prepared to return to normal operations once we are able.

In the meantime, you can explore resources for learning about Missouri history on the SHSMO website: Particularly relevant resources were shared by Executive Director Gary Kremer last week and you can review those online here.

We hope you and your loved ones keep good health as we all support each other through these challenging times.
