Join us at the Center for Missouri Studies on September 7 for the opening reception of In Their Own Words, an exhibit detailing the struggles and triumphs of important media women–straight from their diaries, letters, and interviews.

Celebrating the 35th anniversary of the National Women and Media Collection, In Their Own Words showcases important female voices in media such as Kay Mills, Jean Gaddy Wilson, Marjorie Paxson, Rose Nolen, Tad Bartimus, Christine Craft, Mary Paxton Keeley, Lucile Bluford, Dorothy Jurney, and others. Follow the evolution of women working in media and learn how these journalists were able to navigate careers in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

A special pop-up exhibit featuring materials from the National Women and Media Collection will also be available during the reception.
