Rotoscope: 180 Degree View

1:00 pm

Join SHSMO–Rolla senior archivist Katie Seale as she looks at the history of the cinematic invention of the Rotoscope. Developed by two native Missourians, Rowe Carney and Tom Smith, Rotoscope was a single camera, single projection system capable of filming and projecting a 180-degree view on one reel of film. With grant funding from the National Film Preservation Foundation, four of the nearly 50 reels were successfully digitized and are now available for research. Online and free, registration required.
