If you missed our Helen Stephens exhibit in the Center for Missouri Studies Research Center last fall, you have another chance to view materials documenting Olympic gold medalist and William Woods University’s greatest athlete Helen Stephens. Known as the “Fulton Flash,” Stephens won two gold medals at the 1936 Olympics. The athlete’s running shoes, Olympic diary, and other items from SHSMO’s Helen Stephens Collection will be on display for the event.  The program will also include a talk by Stephens’ biographer, Sharon Kinney Hanson, which is part of William Woods University’s 150th anniversary this year. The event is free and open to the public.
