Carol Silvey spent 38 years at Missouri State University–West Plains as a history instructor and director of development before joining the Community Foundation of the Ozarks as the senior associate for advancement in 2006. Silvey holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Missouri State University and a master’s degree in education from the University of Missouri. She serves the community through roles on a variety of boards, including the Missouri State University Board of Governors and the Missouri Humanities Council Development and Membership Committee. Silvey has received numerous honors, including induction into the Missouri State University Wall of Fame and inclusion in Ingram’s 2016 “Fifty Missourians You Should Know.” MSU–West Plains’s new student union, which opened in September 2018, is named in her honor.
